On October 13, 2020, the "Bring Safety Technology to Coal Mines in Xinjiang" program was launched in Urumqi. The program was hosted by the National Coal Mine Safety Administration (NCMSA), undertaken by the CCTEG China Coal Research Institute, and co-organized by GLTech, with the aim of supporting the production safety of coal mines in Xinjiang and building a cooperation and exchange platform for coal mining enterprises. Experts from Xi'an Research Institute of China Coal Research Institute, Taiyuan Research Institute of China Coal Research Institute, Chongqing Research Institute of China Coal Research Institute, and China Academy of Safety Science and Technology attended the meeting. Gui Laibao, deputy director of the National Coal Mine Safety Administration, delivered a speech.

The "Coal Mine Safety Technology in Mining Area" program was a key task of NCMSA. In these activities, experts gave lectures, had technical exchanges and introduced a great number of advanced coal safety technology achievements and applicable technical equipment. It built a platform for industry, education and research exchange in the field of coal mines to promote the safety technology development. The event was composed of a launch ceremony, an exhibition of coal mine safety technological achievements and cutting-edge applicable technology and equipment, expert lectures and technical exchanges.

During the meeting, 14 experts including Academician Wu Qiang from China University of Mining and Technology gave special lectures on topics of water prevention and control in coal mines, coal and gas outburst, and smart coal mine construction; Wang Xinya, deputy president of GLTech Research Institute, gave a presentation on the intelligent perception technology of coal mine disasters. The special lectures were broadcast live.

As the co-organizer, GLTech sent a team led by Li Zuqing, General Manager of the Marketing Center, to take part in the exhibition of coal mine safety technological achievements and cutting-edge applicable technology and equipment. GLTech's gas drainage monitoring, fire monitoring and precise personnel positioning systems were acclaimed by experts and participants present. Gui Laibao, deputy director of NCMSA, visited the GLTech booth.

After the exhibition, Lu Peichao and other engineers from GLTech were invited to mines for technical communication and exchanges. This year is a crucial year for the development of smart coal mines.
